CONTINUOUS
IMPROVEMENT
At Martin Engineering we are always looking to find the best and most efficient ways to do business. This involves analyzing each and every process that goes on within the company and optimizing the series of steps that achieve the overall goal. By improving every step of the process, the company as a whole can run more quickly with fewer hangups. While initially it may seem like this method works only for manufacturing practices, it can also be implemented in the ways of communication and relationship building. Through continuous improvement, we can be our best selves.

PLAN
Understand that Martin strives to achieve the highest level of quality and try to determine a change that will act as an improvement to the current process. This is the stage where a new method will be tested and the results are analyzed in a theoretical capacity. It is the goal of this step to predict the outcome and have the results match the prediction.
DO
Small-scale testing begins and variables are tested. Clear documentation during every step is crucial to process improvement. Use the changing of variables against the control to interpret the data and determine why the output was improved by the enacted changes.
CHECK
Actual outcomes are compared to the theoretical predictions. The expectation is that these two results will match up. During this step we are able to answer the questions not only "Did it work?" but also "Why did it work?"
ACT
Now that the change has been determined to be an improvement, it will be implemented. The change will continue to be monitored over time to measure its effectiveness and will be used in all applicable departments.
