Meet Our Instructors:

Jerad Heitzlerjerad

As program manager and lead instructor for Martin Engineering’s FOUNDATIONS™ Training Workshops, Jerad Heitzler is a leader in helping the industry learn how to make the handling of bulk materials cleaner, safer, and more productive.      

Jerad started with Martin Engineering as a Customer Development Representative in 2006. He soon realized his love for presentations and for teaching about conveyor systems, and so in 2010 took over management and development of the company’s FOUNDATIONS™ Workshop program. Under his leadership, the program has expanded to offer several levels of conveyor improvement workshops around the world.

Richard Shieldsshields r

As Manager of Conveyor Technologies for Martin Engineering, Richard H. Shields leads seminars teaching plant personnel on the value of and the techniques to prevent fugitive material and improve the efficiency of the belt conveyor systems used in the handling of bulk materials. His extensive conveyor knowledge has been built over 40 years of serving coal mines, coal fired power plants, cement manufacturing plants, hard rock mines and aggregate producers. 

Richard joined Martin Engineering's sales department in 2006 as a Territory Manager for Colorado, Utah, Idaho, North and South Dakota. He was then promoted to Regional Sales Manager for the Western US and Canada where he led Martin's marketing, new product development, sales and service efforts. Finally, he was promoted again to Martin's Manager of Conveyor Technologies. In this current role, Richard's primary responsibilities are to develop new sales and service personnel, manage conveyor audits, teach FOUNDATIONS™.
